Apparently, the superhero gene runs in the family. Well, at least the desire to be a superhero runs in the family. By the way, Beth's t-shirt is from American Airlines, while Bridgette is wearing a Penn State University sweatshirt.

mr. prengaman, you have master the technique of the bait and switch.

i thought Isla was in genuine trouble, but it was just a game.
in addition, i also thought the first and second panels were flashbacks to little girl Isla

On a serious note, can they be sure that her daughter's friend won't tell anyone what they've seen? Or is the friend's parents in on the secret?

Both girls are their daughters. Bridgette and Beth. Sam, their son, will be seen soon enough. :) As for the "secret", maybe the kids don't even know? She's receiving a set of fake fangs after all. :)

Quick question: If this is just playtime, why does she have a bleeding cut on her cheek?

Fake blood and bruising. Some parents like to go all out when playing with their kids. Plus, it added to the bait-and-switch from page one. :)

If they are playing "superheroes", What's the double A of the American Airlines shirt supposed to stand for?
